"The thousands of artists who use our solutions and whom we support each carry a part of the diversity that makes up the culture of their country. They are women and men of different origins and sensibilities. Our teams must reflect this diversity in their composition. We always say that we have two hearts: our people and our artists and they must beat in tune with each other."

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

TuneCore advocates diversity, equity, and inclusion across all of our platforms and throughout our company. We are a company who cares deeply about our people and our artist community. TuneCore's driving forces are Innovation and Collaboration. We take both very seriously. Innovation keeps us working hard for our artists, pushing our  "Artists First" agenda. Collaboration drives the way in which we work, as well as the way in which we approach our company's social responsibility.

We join with our parent company, Believe in supporting the company's Ambassadors program, made up of TuneCore team members stepping outside their roles to bring the company together on issues they care about, both local and global. These TuneCore ambassadors work towards the goals of communicating best practices, proposing and leading concrete initiatives and actions.

The company also supports Believe's initiatives:

  • Believe for People, focused on diversity and equality for all people and working towards a more inclusive workplace
  • Believe for Parity, whose goals are true equality between women and men in the workplace and to fight against discrimination
  • Believe for Planet, which operates as an internal think tank on environmental issues. Their mission is to limit the carbon footprint and any environmentally negative impact of the company and its employees

BE THE CHANGE

With equality in mind, beginning in 2021 TuneCore and Believe partnered with leading entertainment and media analysis research firm MIDiA Research to launch BE THE CHANGE: Women in Music, a groundbreaking study on the underrepresentation of female creators in the music industry.

For the fourth edition of BE THE CHANGE: Gender Equity in Music, TuneCore and Believe have once again partnered with MIDiA to execute the study. Taking an intersectional approach, this year’s study will provide an in-depth analysis of the current state across the global industry, and what more can be done to break down barriers facing women and gender-expansive music makers. Rather than focus on the flaws of the system, the study will pay particular attention to developing actionable and measurable ways to effect change across the industry.

If you are a creator or industry professional, we invite you to take the survey and BE THE CHANGE that helps shape a brighter and more equitable future for music. Please note that the survey is available in 15 languages (Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, and Turkish) to ensure it is accessible to as many people as possible.
