Artist Breakdown: TuneCore Live NYC @ Pianos

February 18, 2016

It’s a new year and we’re hosting TuneCore Live at a NEW location in New York. While we understand that’s a lotta ‘new’, rest assured, it’s still the same awesome TuneCore Live!

We’re thrilled to bring TuneCore Artists Paperwhite, Andy Suzuki, and Surf Rock is Dead to the famed Pianos, tucked away in the vibrant Lower East Side of Manhattan on Monday, February 29th.

Like all TuneCore Live shows, it’s 21+, FREE, and TuneCore’s NYC staff will be hanging out. So come by, get to know some of the folks that help distribute your music – ask us questions, or just enjoy some awesome free live music! You can RSVP on Facebook here.

Paperwhite is a brother-sister duo based in Brooklyn. They bring the familial vibes and a lush dream-pop sound to the indie scene. After releasing their debut EP Magic in 2014, Paperwhite garnered attention from music blogs across the world. Check out their latest single “Unstoppable” from their next EP, due out in Spring of 2016!

Andy Suzuki

A true performer, indie singer/songwriter Andy Suzuki has been singing before he could walk. He credits his upbringing in the culturally diverse Washington DC for providing an expansive soundtrack by which he was inspired. Andy Suzuki (and his backing band, The Method) have shared the stage with Ringo Starr, Joshua Radin, and Marc Broussard.

Surf Rock is Dead

Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg make up the intercontinental Surf Rock is Dead. Don’t let the name fool you – hailing from Chicago and Melbourne, Australia respectively, SRiD plays beach-soaked fuzzy indie rock that’ll make you want to move your feet and catch some waves, even if it’s February. And the people of the internet agree: all four tracks from their latest EP (plus one more!) charted in the Hype Machine’s Top 25! Check out their single “Never Be the Same” below.
