Happy Hump Day everyone! We’re back with another round up of awesome TuneCore Artist music videos and some random and often meaningless fun facts in the realm of music history. On this day in 1974, a young Joe Strummer and his rock group the 101ers made their live debut at the Telegraph in London. A couple years down the road, the Clash frontman would ‘see the light’ of punk rock when the Sex Pistols would open for them. The rest? History!
We’ve arrived at another Wednesday and it’s once more met with a sleepy lack of enthusiasm. But did you know that on this day back in 1970, legendary proto-punkers Velvet Underground played their last gig together at the also legendary Max’s Kansas City in Manhattan? A sad day for even those of us that weren’t alive to mourn their existence! Leader Lou Reed would go on to work for his dad as a typist (?!) for two years before returning to the scene as a solo artist. Thankfully, there’d be plenty of good music to come from that stint. But enough about Lou, enjoy yourself some awesome music videos from TuneCore Artists:
Ever hear Ray Stevens’ “The Streak”? No? Doesn’t ring a bell? What’s about, you ask? STREAKING. Like, running nude in public. Which apparently became such a craze in the early 1970s that our boy Ray had a #1 UK Pop Hit dedicated to it! In fact it jumped to that spot on this day in 1974. Hence why we’re bringing it up on a boring, slow-moving Wednesday afternoon. What else are we bringing? Why a bunch of TuneCore Artist music videos, of course! Distract yourself:
Happiest of Wednesday Video Diversion Birthdays to the King of Cool Dean Martin and the legendary Tom Jones! Let’s do right by these two trail blazers and drop everything, take our eyes off the clock (that will. not. move.) and enjoy a random round-up of TuneCore Artist music videos!
On May 31st back in 1975, the Rolling Stones were set to make an announcement at the 5th Avenue Hotel in New York City by holding a press conference. They’d be announcing their upcoming U.S. tour, but instead of a traditional press conference, they made rock ‘n roll history by showing up on the back of flatbed truck performing live in the street! See an awesome photo of that below. And below that? Yeah, another awesome round-up of TuneCore Artist music videos to help you drown your boredom on this snoozefest of a Wednesday afternoon!
